In June of 2009 I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication Design. The same spring I won the award for Visual Communication Design "Best of Category" at the Ohio States Design Exhibition for my senior thesis. The project focused on pediatric wayfinding design for Nationwide Childrens Hospital and inspired an interest in branded environments and wayfinding.Over the last six years, as a design professional, student and intern at the Georgia Aquarium and the Ohio State University, I have worked with Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign on a daily basis to make logotypes, book layouts, posters and other printed and digital material. For over two years of my undergraduate degree I worked with the Ohio Union Graphic Design Department at the Ohio State University. Projects there ranged from producing orientation themes and materials, to designing t-shirts, and producing logotypes to be used at Ohio State. This position was valuable to me because of the close interaction with clients and the introduction to working directly with vendors. In the summer of 2008 I had the opportunity to intern at The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta Georgia as part of their graphic and exhibit design department. In that position I was able to see how large scale design is executed and maintained within an entertainment and educational environment. In October of 2009 I began working as the Graphic Designer for University Residences and Dining Services at the Ohio State University. I am excited to gain more experience and expertise in this position as I design new, and maintain the existing 20 individually branded dining locations; and create printed and digital solutions for over 30 residence halls.
